Halcyon Dive Systems-

It is all about the dive. Halcyon makes the gear that will enhance your diving. The process begins with designing, testing, refining, and making it better. Never settling for just "good enough."

Halcyon began as a group of divers who knew exactly what they wanted, but could not find it in any dive store. Their passion for diving led them to designing wings and lights to satisfy themselves. They soon discovered that they were not alone in their pursuit of equipment that could radically improve the diving comfort of every diver; from the newest recreational diver, to supporting divers doing the most aggressive technical dives ever completed. Halcyons founders, owners, and senior management have a long history as diving pioneers, with diverse backgrounds, ranging from academia, to manufacturing and consulting. They do share one common thread: an average of 25 years of dives in each of their log books.

Scubapro-

SCUBAPRO first appeared in the scuba diving world in the early 1960's.  It was guided by two men, Gustav Dalla Valle and Dick Bonin.  They brought to the market many innovations for diving that are still being used today.  The 1964 catalog featured everything the diver could want, including regulators, recompression chambers, and submarines.  In 1965 the first version of the Jet fin first appeared.  After 40 years the fin is still popular with technical and military divers worldwide and is one of the most copied scuba products ever sold.  In 1966 the catalog also added the Automatic Decompression meter, a forerunner to the modern dive computer. Back mount BC's, weight integrated systems, the Classic style STAB jacket, and other innovations continued to be introduced throughout the years.

Today, SCUBAPRO remains a premier manufacturer of scuba diving equipment and employs over 400 people in 17 locations spread over 13 countries, covering 4 continents. At least 1 in every 2 employees is a diver and in several countries over 80% are divers, and over a third are instructors. SCUBAPRO is a Johnson Outdoors Inc. company.

Shearwater Research-

From its beginnings in 2004 Shearwater Research Inc. has been fueled by the passion and vision of its CEO Bruce Partridge.  With a background in computer systems design, embedded programming and advanced technical diving, Bruce brings a unique perspective to the world of dive computers.

Armed with the belief that divers want a simple intuitive user interface previously unavailable in dive computers and rebreather control systems, the earliest focus was on the design of a menu structure that made sense to the user.  As an experienced rebreather and open circuit technical diver, Bruce clearly understood the need for divers to be offered reasonable choices, requiring as few button pushes as possible, during stressful underwater situations.  Coupled with Bruce’s strong programming skills and demand for robust, reliable products, Shearwater Research has quickly become a major supplier of trimix computers and electronic control systems for rebreathers.

Henderson Aquatics-

Henderson Aquatics was founded by business partners Everett Edmund and Patrick Madison. Both men had also been partners in the marine industry. Shortly after World War II the US Navy concluded it no longer required diving service and sold off its entire inventory of Mark V diving suits to Edmund and Madison as surplus. A short time later the Navy reversed its position and reinstated dive services. Several years later SCUBA diving began to become popular and the partners identified the need for thermal protection. “Henderson” the business and brand was soon formed and named after the Henderson boatyard  located in Port Elizabeth, NJ where the original wetsuit factory was located. Early wetsuits were sold primarily to Scuba divers as a “build it yourself” kit. The kit contained a roll of Neoprene, a pattern and a bottle of neoprene cement. As more divers opted not to construct their own suits Henderson began producing and shipping ready made suits to its customers.

The Henderson Sport Group today is based in Millville, NJ just a few miles from the original Henderson Boatyard where the company was founded. The company brands are distributed worldwide and it remains focused on Style, Performance and Product innovation.
