Course Overview
TDI Rebreather Full Cave is the third stage in TDI's rebreather overhead-environment development program. The official TDI page describes advanced rebreather cave planning, practical execution in different cave systems, and refinement of previous Rebreather Cavern and Rebreather Intro to Cave skills. The emphasis is on dive planning, bailout range requirements, navigation, conservation, and skill perfection through actual cave penetration.
This course is for certified TDI Rebreather Introductory Cave Divers, or equivalents, who want to expand their rebreather cave-diving range and capability. TDI lists minimum age 18, CCR Air Diluent Decompression Procedures Diver or equivalent, Rebreather Introductory Cave Diver or equivalent, and proof of at least 50 logged dives and 50 hours on the rebreather unit used in training. A Full Cave route may also apply.
Training covers rebreather cave policy, bailout cylinder options, configuration, scrubber choices, reels, communication, trim, buoyancy, line following, stress management, cave geology, conservation, decompression theory, lost line and lost diver drills, jumps, gaps, circuits, traverses, SCR-mode exits, solenoid failure procedures, and advanced navigation. In High Springs, Florida, it is a serious qualification for CCR cave divers. Successful students should leave with mature full-cave planning habits and stronger unit-specific emergency control.
