Course Overview
PADI Tec Trimix 65 introduces experienced technical divers to trimix as a breathing gas for deeper open-circuit diving. Instead of simply extending the same decompression habits from air or nitrox, the course focuses on planning dives that use helium, oxygen, and nitrogen to manage narcosis and breathing-gas choices at depth. PADI identifies the training depth range as up to 65 metres/210 feet, so the work is serious and deliberately structured.
The course is for divers who already have a solid technical base. PADI lists Tec 50, at least 100 logged dives, age requirements, and a physician-signed medical statement among the qualifications. Students should be comfortable with staged decompression, technical equipment, gas switches, team communication, and disciplined ascent control before beginning. Other equivalent technical certifications may apply, but that decision belongs with the Tec Trimix instructor.
Training normally combines trimix theory, gas planning, emergency procedures, dive execution, and debriefing. In High Springs, Florida, it is a logical next step for technical divers preparing for deeper expeditions while keeping their training progressive and controlled.
