Tec 45 Training
PADI Tec 45 continues the PADI TecRec open-circuit pathway by moving divers beyond limited Tec 40 decompression into more complete staged decompression planning. The official PADI page describes Tec 45 as training divers to make decompression dives to 45 meters or 145 feet, use a single decompression cylinder with up to 100% oxygen, and master the skills and procedures needed for technical decompression diving.
This course is for divers who have already completed Tec 40 or equivalent training and are ready for greater responsibility. PADI lists prerequisites including Tec 40, Rescue Diver, at least 50 logged dives, and minimum age requirements, with additional experience expectations. Students should already be comfortable with tec equipment, gas planning, buoyancy during stops, emergency procedures, and following a written decompression plan without improvising under pressure.
