NSS-CDS Stage Cave Diver teaches certified cave divers how to use stage cylinders as a range-extending tool without adding unnecessary risk or damaging the cave. The official NSS-CDS page explains that simply carrying extra bottles is not enough; divers must learn proper stage-cylinder configuration for backmount and/or sidemount, effective deployment, environmental protection while staging, and gas-management strategies that actually support the dive plan. This course is for full Cave Divers or equivalent divers who have enough experience to add task loading responsibly.
