Enriched Air Nitrox Training

IANTD Nitrox Diver training introduces certified divers to the planning and use of enriched air nitrox, often called EANx. The IANTD course page describes it as a program for sport divers who want to use a breathing gas with more oxygen than normal air, within the diver?s existing depth qualification and up to the agency?s recreational limit. The practical benefit is not magic extra depth; it is learning how nitrox changes oxygen exposure, no-decompression planning, gas analysis, and dive decision-making.

This course is a good fit for Open Water Divers who are ready to add nitrox to their normal diving toolkit. IANTD lists Open Water Diver qualification and a minimum age requirement for enrollment, and notes that the program may be taken as a standalone course or combined with other IANTD advanced or specialty programs. Students should already be comfortable with basic dive planning, computer use, and following conservative limits.

Training normally includes academic work and may include confined-water and open-water sessions depending on how the instructor conducts the program. In High Springs, Florida, it is especially useful for divers planning repeated dives, continuing education, or future technical training, because nitrox awareness becomes part of almost every serious diver?s planning vocabulary.
