Advanced Cave Training
IANTD Advanced Cave Diver training is for certified cave divers who are ready to move beyond basic main-line cave diving into more complex cave planning and execution. The current IANTD advanced cave listings include focused programs such as stage and multi-stage cave diving, where the emphasis is on using staged cylinders for longer penetrations, decompression planning, safety reserves, and disciplined team procedures in overhead environments.
This course is aimed at experienced, responsible cave divers, not divers who are still building their first overhead skills. IANTD lists Technical Cave Diver or higher, or an equivalent qualification, as the prerequisite for the advanced cave stage/multi-stage pathway, with minimum age and logged cave dive experience requirements. Students should arrive with stable buoyancy, precise propulsion, reliable gas planning habits, and a mature attitude toward line work and team communication.
